Choosing The Right Halloween Costume For Your Baby
Posted in: Halloween Tots & Tweens by Alia-C on September 28, 2008
Halloween is quickly becoming one of the most popular holidays of the year. You can dress up to be anything you want and you can dress your baby up to match or compliment your look. Infant Halloween costumes are available in a wide variety of styles. Some of the most popular baby Halloween costumes this year are included here.
One idea is to dress your baby up as Baby Princess Fiona. These costumes are available in Fiona’s human or her Ogre side as well. The human costume includes Fiona’s beautiful green dress and tiara. There are red braids that enhance the look. On the other hand, the Ogre version of this costume includes the green or white dress that still gives you the authentic Princess Fiona look.
The Baby Shrek costume can be created with the Ogre costume (Shrek’s pants and a leather vest) and a bit of green makeup if your Baby is old enough. Prince Shrek also spent a few days as a human so you can dress your baby up as Prince Shrek as well.
Prince Charming and other knights in shining armor are really cute ideas for baby Halloween costumes. Your little boy can dress up in a small suit and he can carry Tights and a Onesie along with a skirt or tutu can make a homemade costume or you can purchase a baby ballerina Halloween costume for your little one. Ballerina costumes are absolutely adorable and one major benefit is that they allow for free movement that some costumes don’t give babies.
Another relatively simple idea is dressing your baby up as a baby skeleton. These usually are put on black sweats or black one piece outfits and have white bones on the outside of the clothing. If you can find them, opt for the glow-in-the-dark baby skeleton costume for a cool effect at night.
Baby animals are fun as well. There are a variety of plush costumes that allow your baby to become a unicorn, bear, puppy, turtle, or one of many other baby animals. One cute idea might be to find a “baby leash” if your baby is closer to a toddler’s age and as your baby strolls around, you could “walk” your little animal to complete the costume.
All in all, baby Halloween costumes are fun and give your baby a chance to join in on the Halloween festivities. You can let your baby choose what costume to wear or surprise your baby with your choice of costume. Another idea is to dress your family up as a group theme costume to complement baby’s costume. You can dress up as a rock band, a group of tourists, a herd of cattle, or a clan of witches. Whatever choice you make for your baby’s Halloween costume, have a great time!
